Spouse of the Thai Ambassador to the UAE participated in Charity Bazaar on behalf of Thailand

            The Diplomatic Group for Spouses of Ambassadors in the UAE hosted a Charity Bazaar at the General Women’s Union, Abu Dhabi during 1 – 2 May 2010, of which, all proceeds would be donated to the Future Centre for Special Needs, the Special Care Centre, and victims of the earthquake in Haiti. This Bazaar is under the Patronage of       H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of UAE General Women’s Union and Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation., who also presided over the opening ceremony on 1 May 2010 and contributed 1 million AED in cash.

            On this occasion, Mrs. Viyada Charanasomboon, Spouse of the Thai Ambassador and a Member of the Organizing Committee organized a booth representing Thailand. There were jewelries, handbags and sags, small souvenirs, and artificial flowers from Thailand for sale at reasonable prices. Besides, there were some famous Thai dishes and desserts such as Pad Thai with prawns, Crispy Jelly, and Thai cookie available for take away throughout the function.

            This event had enjoyed successful cooperation from almost all Diplomatic missions and International Organizations in the UAE which featured authentic products as well as popular dishes and desserts from the across the world at each individual booths. Many leading local and international companies also participated by sponsoring many valuable gifts for the auctions and raffle draws such as airplane tickets, notebook computers, complimentary hotel rooms, mobiles phones etc. For Thailand, Thai Airways International sponsored two return air tickets to Bangkok and Samui.
